New Level 1 pre-licensing class starting on June 18 (tuesday). Class is held every tuesday, wednesday, and thursday from 8:30 am till 2:30 pm. Total of 150 hours. 50 hours anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and 100 hours of theory and demonstration and learning a therapeutic massage routine. Hokulani Massage Academy presents:

Namikoshi Style – Shiatsu , 14 Hour Workshop Intensive with Tom Langenstein.

This workshop intensive will include:

Basic Whole Body Technique for delivery on both a mat and table

Workshop includes:

History of the technique,

Understanding of energetical concepts,

Anatomy & physiology,

Assessment,

Treatment points,

Proper use of hands,

Body positioning (yours and the patient’s),

Guidance in direction and depth of pressure,

Cadence and timing of pressure for specific desired effect

Applications,

Contra-indications,

Protocols for specific conditions.

No need of previous experience in Asian healing arts is necessary.

Training will entail approximately 50% lecture and 50% hands-on practice.

The plan is for a 3 hour session in the morning, a one hour break for lunch, and a 4 hour session in the afternoon on both days.

A class outline with limited illustrations will be provided for no extra cost.

A certificate of continuing education shall be given upon completion of the workshop.

Participants should bring: a sheet and towel (bolsters are also helpful), portable table (if possible). Please ask if needed.
